A farmer in eastern India is helping those affected by the coronavirus pandemic by growing vegetables and giving them away for free.

Chhayarani Sahu, a mother of four, is seen pushing a power tiller around a field ready for crops to planted.

Sahu, 38, has been distributing her produce to around 15 nearby villages all for free and has been doing so since March 24.

The Chief Minister of Odisha has recognised and shown their appreciation for Sahu's work.

Mother of 4 buys second hand power triller to grow vegetables for poors affected with COVID 19 Lockdown in India

A mother of 4 bays purchased a second hand power tiller just to grow vegetables so that she could grow vegetables for the poors who were affected due to the COVID 19 lockdown in Odisha.

The woman Chhayarani Sahu, 38, who is an educated Indian farmer bought the second hand tiller in installment so that she could grow vegetables. She toiled hard day and night to grow the veggies only for the poors.

The video shows the woman tilling the land all by herself with the newly purchased second hand tiller.

She was soon recognized by her neighbour for her noble work and recommended her name to the CHief Minister of Odisha who appreciated her dedication to work for the poors.

An unnamed neighbour of Chhayarani told Manas Behera of MIPA News, "I have seen her work hard in the fields just for the poors with whom she doesn't even share any personal relation. She is a true symbol of woman empowerment, she works hard not for herself but for others."
