Footage shows an amazing river with clear turquoise waters in Melaka, Malaysia that has been likened to the Maldives.

Leonard Peters said the river has already been known for its clear water but the beauty of it has become stronger during the coronavirus pandemic because of the lockdown reducing human activity.

Footage shows the stunning natural river shimmering in the sunlight on June 12.

However, the Department of Wildlife and National Parks has warned the locals and tourists about entering the water because it is home to crocodiles.

The department said in a statement: "Residents used to see crocodiles in this river back in 2008.

"We have warned people who live in the area and visiting tourists to be careful when they are here and stay away from the water, in case there are still crocodiles.''
