Hong Kong Pro-Independence Demonstrators Defy Police Amid New National Security Law

On the 23rd Anniversary of Hong Kong's handover back to China, and the first day of the the new National Secutity Law being enacted in Hong Kong - Protesters took to the streets around Causeway Bay, a major shopping district in the heart of Hong Kong island to express their dissatisfaction with the current state-of-affairs.

Protesters are seen creating makeshift blockades and barricades out of sidewalk pavement bricks in hopes of creating a roadblock while police are seen retaliating by charging towards anti-government demonstrators, using various levels of force to disperse the crowd and making arrests.
