This is the adorable moment a family of otters were seen happily splashing in a river during a rainstorm.

The animals were enjoying the wet weather in a canal in Rayong province, eastern Thailand, on June 28.

Onlookers watched as the six otters the water overflowing from a footpath splashed onto their heads. They then dived below the surface of the water shook their bodies.

The filmer said: "When I zoomed in, I was a bit surprised that I saw the otter family playing in the water. They were so cute. I think they were enjoying the chance to cool off in the rain.''

Thailand has moved into its hot, annual rainy season, which sees temperatures passing 35C every day followed by violent rainstorms and flash floods. The unpredictable weather continues until temperatures start to cool again towards the end of October.
