A man in his 20s was shot dead in Islington in north London today (July 4th).

Emergency services were called to Roman Way in Islington, close to Pentonville Prison, at 15:20 BST and found the man with gunshot wounds, according to reports.

He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards, police said.

Early today police were called at 3.20pm to Roman Way, following reports of shots been fired. Officers attended with London Ambulance Service and found a man, believed to be aged in his early 20s, suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite of their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
