Following a heavy downpour, numerous instances of devastation along the coastline have been reported in western India’s Gujarat on Monday (July 6).

According to reports, the state has received 22 percent of its average rainfall during the season, which has been recorded to be 183 mm (7 inches) up until Monday morning.

A highway connecting Somnath and Kodiwar in Gir Somnath district has been shut down following a mishap wherein a stranded pickup truck was pulled out of a flash flood with the help of a tractor.

Raval dam, situated in Una district, was also reported to be at 95 percent of its entire capacity, which led to the opening of four of its six floodgates, which further flooded the Raval River.

Following the river flood, in Sanvav Village in Gir Somnath, overflowing river water burst the banks and crept up inside the village, inflicting severe damage to property.
