The remote Um Island in Indonesia is home to thousands of bats which are seen hanging from trees in this footage filmed on July 5.

According to local residents, the island of Um has indeed been a habitat for thousands of bats and seagulls since time immemorial. After the bats leave, seagulls come and perch at sunset.

The existence of thousands of bats in the afternoon makes Um Island a popular tourist destination.

Elbert Mobalen, a local tourism coordinator, said: "After the bats leave in the afternoon until the evening to find food, seagulls then arrive. They take turns."

Thousands of bats appear to hang from the branches of trees.

This scene can be witnessed around 6am to 6pm on the island of Um.

Without knowing the season, thousands of bats make the trees that grow on the island of Um as a place to rest, after sunrise.

The most widely grown tree on Um Island is the evergreen tree.
