A farmer was delighted after he stumbled upon primitive tools buried in his land while he was digging in Ang Thong, central Thailand.

Somkiat Boriboon, 54, contacted the country's Ministry of Culture after finding ancient utensils on July 2.

Specialists from the ministry went to the area and examined the utensils along with human and animal bones that were found and concluded them to be from Neolithic age.

They ministry representative will secure the land to begin further exploration in hopes of finding more valuable artefacts underneath.

The representative said: "The utensils are clearly from the Neolithic age which was around 4,500 to 10,000 years ago and we will take the bone to check their ages as well.

"Moreover, since we believe that there could be more of these underground, we will secure the land and begin the exploration soon."
