An avalanche of rocks came tumbling down onto a road in northeastern India, obstructing traffic on the entire stretch of the route.

The incident took place along the Malbasey Road connecting Soreng with Budang Thangsing in the state of Sikkim, on July 9.

According to reports, Sikkim has been hit by heavy rainfall over the past two weeks, triggering landslides in several areas of the state.

In a terrifying setback, a massive landslide occurred in northeastern India’s Sikkim, obstructing traffic on the entire stretch of the route.

The incident took place along the Malbasey Road connecting Soreng with Budang Thangsing in western Sikkim’s Bhirdara, on July 9.

According to reports, Sikkim has received heavy rainfall in the past fortnight, triggering landslides in several areas of the state.

In visuals, debris can already be seen collapsed on the route, when an enormous chunk of landholding trees falls in no time.

However, local administration proved of significant assistance, and cleared out the debris on the same day, making use of an excavator.
