This is the shocking moment a woman fell victim to a double motorcycle grab theft in just one second.

Ban Muy Heang, 26, was on her lunch break crossing a busy road with colleagues in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on May 28, when the gang approached.

CCTV footage shows how the first rider grabbed the smartphone from her left hand leaving her startled.

A second rider then whizzed by a second later and yanked her handbag away. Her ID card, driver's license, ATM cars and cash were stolen.

Police logged the case - one of a terrifying rise in motorcycle grab thefts spreading across the city - before finally arresting the gang on July 6.

The third rider also involved in the theft seen on CCTV, with him riding ahead of the gang helping to distract the target and keep the path clear.

Officers said the three suspects, one aged 20 and two aged 17, were detained at the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Headquarters.

They were charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and police interrogated them to find other motorcycle grab thief gangs.

The trio were paraded to the media yesterday (July 9) after allegedly admitting stealing from the woman seen in the CCTV as well as two other similar thefts.

They were named by officers as Sitha Sina Vibol, 20, Chan Sok Cheng, 17, and Sophanit, 17, with all of them living in Phnom Penh.

A Cambodian police spokesman said: ''The first case happened on May 28 followed by another on June 27, when a mobile phone and 2,500 dollars was stolen.

''In the final case on July 6, the gang attempted to steal an iPhone but failed and they were caught the same day.

''The suspects admitted their actions and have been send to Phnom Penh Municipal Court to be processed.''
