This is the moment a snake catcher in the India state of Tamil Nadu removed a massive king cobra from a residential area.

Footage filmed on June 10th in Coimabore shows the man carefully picking up the 15-foot reptile with a special stick and then coaxing it into a bag.

The highly venomous snake was later released deep in the Siruvani forest far from human settlements.

15 feet King cobra rescued from a human habitat in South India

Coimbatore Forest Division is witnessing an increase in the sighting of king cobras (Ophiophagus hannah), the longest of all venomous snakes, in human habitations. Four king cobras were rescued from human habitations in Coimbatore district of Tamilnadu in the last eight months which were later released in natural habitats.
On June 10 Coimbatore forest division got a call from a village near Thondamuthur of Coimbatore District in Tamilnadu seeking for the help in rescuing the reptile. A forest team rushed to the spot with the snake handler and they found a king cobra in the agricultural farm which was a 15-foot-long. The caught reptile was a female king cobra.
After a small medical examination the Giant King Cobra was left in the deep jungle of Siruvani forest.
