Although it is still haunted by the Covid-19 pandemic, four districts in Kota Regency in West Sumatra, Indonesia carry out teaching and learning activities in schools in a face-to-face pattern, starting on Monday, 13 July 2020. One of them is Pesisir Selatan Regency.

Direct face-to-face teaching and learning takes place in 458 schools, consisting of elementary (elementary) to junior high schools, in accordance with district authority. While the high school level, is the province's authority.

The teaching and learning process will be carried out with the application of a strict health protocol, even though the South Coastal District has been declared to be in the Covid-19 green zone.

The policy to start face-to-face learning was carried out in accordance with recommendations from the Government of the Province of West Sumatra which declared the area as a green area.

In accordance with the health protocol and instructions of the local Education and Culture Office, the smokers are required to wear masks and wash their hands.

Study time is also shortened, from what usually starts at 7 to 13:00, to 07.30 to 10 or 11:00

One of them was implemented in SMP Negeri 5 Tarusan, Koto XI Tarusan District.

The principal, Darmalis said:
"What is clear is that all of our students are required to wear masks, wash their hands and keep their distance. PBM in the local area is at most 15 people. Children should not gather, nor do they have time to rest"

In addition to Pesisir Selatan, three other regions that apply face-to-face learning in schools are Kota Pariaman, Sawahlunto and Pasaman Barat District.
