Forest department officials have rescued a male leopard left injured after a majestic fight with another wildcat in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

The visual came out of Nayapura village near Kampel in Indore on July 9.

According to reports, two leopards were seen fighting each other vicinity of Nayapura village.

Following this, one of them, at least seven-years-old, was seriously injured with a bleeding mouth.

A wildlife volunteer Rohitansh Pandey and villagers informed the forest department officials.

Suresh Barole Range Officer headed the Indore team with deputy range officer Rajesh Nagwade and led the operation with Shiva Panchal, Mahesh Malviya, Amit Nigam and Nilesh Panekar.

The team squad included Rajesh Nangwade, Satya Shiva Panchal, Mahesh Malviya, Nilesh Kumar Pane Kar and Amit Nigam.

The team got a trap cage trying to lure the leopard inside it.

"He was scared and injured, so luring him in the cage for rescue was a tough task and we attempted different techniques,” one official said.

After several attempts, the forest officials managed to capture the leopard and he was transported to the Indore zoo for further medical treatment.

The leopard is severely injured and has lost a lot of blood.

His right eye has lost complete sight and his left eyelid is still stuck.

Sources suggest there is still a possibility that the leopard will completely recover and be fit to live in the jungle again.
