Timelapse footage caught an epic lightning show as an incredible thunderstorm made its way towards Pensacola Beach, Florida on July 12.

Footage shows the relentless lightning strikes illuminate the coastline.

The filmer told Newsflare: "The storm system slowly crept toward the camera while lightning struck multiple times per second.

"The water was only visible when lightning flashed, creating a moody look to the ocean."

Just after sunset, a thunderstorm with lightning strikes every second moved over Pensacola Beach, Florida, slowly making it's way toward the camera.
