A huge python was rescued from human habitation by firefighters after it killed a stray dog in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place in Thuckalay of Kanyakumari district on July 16.

The video shows, firefighters rescuing the python from bushes and putting it into a bag.

According to the reports, the residents of the village called up the fire department after sensing its presence.

The Thuckalay fire department officials arrived and rescued the snake.

The stray dog was crushed to death by the snake.
