Adorable baby elephant takes walk with its keeper in southern India
A heart-warming video shows, a baby elephant strolling along with its keeper in the zoo premises of southern India's Karnataka.
The incident took place in Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens of Mysore on July 16.
The video shows the baby elephant out for a walk with the animal keeper.
The keeper, identified as Somu, said that the rescued calf was about to 86 Kilograms (189 lbs) when it was brought to the zoo and now weighs about 116 kilograms (255 lbs).
The calf called as Vedavathi is the fourth elephant the keeper is raising after nursing at least four elephant calves namely Aishwarya, Madesh, Kollegala and Chamundi.
He states, he gives milk for the calf four times a day and two times he gives a nutritious ball made of finger millets, rice and other ingredients.
Somu said that he feeds the calves with milk at least four times a day and other food items as finger millets, rice at least two times in a day.
He also accompanies the calf on a walk three times a day.
