Rescue and repair operations go throughout the night as flooding in Nizhny Sergi, southern Russia destroyed bridges and infrastructure.

In the city of Nizhny Sergi, Sverdlovsk region, after the flood, provoked by a heavy downpour, a municipal emergency mode was introduced. In the evening, on July 20, Serebryanka and Storozhevaya rivers overflowed here. Because of this, part of the city was flooded. To eliminate the consequences of flooding in Nizhniye Sergi of the Sverdlovsk region, heavy equipment is used — road excavators. A total of four excavators will be involved: three will arrive in Sergi at night and start work by eight in the morning, and the first excavator has already started clearing the rubble. The goal is to clear the riverbed of the zastavki River, which overflowed and caused flooding in the city. As a result, 63 private houses, where 189 people live, and four administrative buildings were flooded. Two houses were completely destroyed, and one was partially destroyed. In addition, one bridge was demolished by the flood, and two bridges were partially damaged. There are more than two thousand homes without electricity, where 6.2 thousand people live. More than 200 people were evacuated.
