A Thai massage girl works while wearing a face mask due to the Covid-19 restrictions in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 21.

Massage parlours have been allowed to re-open since June but staff must follow strict measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

Ministers have ordered staff to wear face masks and refrain from too much small talk, which they believe can spread diseases through the droplets in the air. Businesses must also take temperature checks of customers and use hand sanitiser on them.

Thailand introduced airport temperature scans as early as February followed by strict lockdown and curfew rules when cases started to increase in March.

The country has not recorded any new local transmission of the virus for two months but still remains closed to international tourists amid fears of a second wave.
