Firefighters have rescued a horse left stranded inside a well in Karaikal, Puducherry, India on July 22.

According to reports, the thirsty animal fell into the well while trying to drink water from it.

Residents spotted the animal and alerted the fire department officials who rushed to the spot to rescue the horse.

The video shows a group of firefighters trying to rescue the horse from the well.

The crew first drained the water out of the well to keep the horse afloat. They then used ropes and a fire hose to support the animal from the bottom and hauled it out of the well.

After several attempts, they managed to rescue the animal.
