Protests have continued in Portland resulting in local police discharging significant amounts of tear gas.

Footage from July 22 shows many protesters retreat after a confrontation with authorities.

The filmer, Tommie Norton, said: "I actually work at the detention center so I see this almost every day.

"The tear gas really burns, even with an N95!

"There were lots of people, even say a van delivering water and food!

"They seem prepared and I don’t anticipate they will leave anytime soon."

This was taken directly in front of the federal building downtown Portland shortly after Mayor Ted Wheeler had delivered his speech. It appeared that protestors had dismantled a section of the fence and proceeded to enter and light fires. Federal officers started using tear gas and flash bangs to drive the people out. «I actually work at the detention center so I see this almost every day. The tear gas really burns, even with an N95!
