This is the heart-stopping moment a cyclist narrowly avoided being crushed by an overtaking truck.

The man was riding his racing bike along a rural road in Nonthaburi, central Thailand, when the lorry went to pass him.

However, the bike rider lost his balance and toppled onto the ground - his head coming within a few inches of the huge wheels.

Passing driver Todsapon Juncamenon recorded the crash when it happened during a curve in the road on July 11.

He said the man's bike was destroyed by the container truck. The cyclist suffered knee grazes in the accident. He was treated at the scene then continued with his exercise ride.

Todsapon said: "He was very lucky not to have been killed in the accident. The truck driver stopped to help and he was shaken. He was afraid at first that he had driven over the rider.''
