Hemet Fire Department responded to reports of a pedestrian down in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle on July 28.

Arriving crews located a possible female victim laying in the eastbound lanes of Domenigoni Parkway. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics. One vehicle was located between the eastbound and westbound lanes with heavy front end damage. Officers suspected a second vehicle due to evidence present at the scene suggesting the victim was struck by two cars.

Moments later, the driver of the second vehicle came back to the scene with human remains stuck underneath the car. It's unknown whether the driver returned to the scene because he was made aware of the parts underneath the vehicle or if he realized only later that he struck the pedestrian.

The eastbound lanes of Domenigoni Parkway from Warren Road to Alamar Mesa are shut down pending the conclusion of the investigation and clearing of the roadway. At this moment it's unknown if intoxication or speed were a factor in the crash.

The identity of the victim is unknown at this time.
