CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to multiple reports of fire on the 24000 block of Orange Avenue, in the City of Perris. The first arriving fire resource reported approximately a quarter lot of burning debris with extension to a 100,000+ square foot commercial structure. Heavy fire loading from the contents of the building created difficult conditions for firefighers. The fire also extended to the surrounding vegetation, with three 100x30 spots causing the nearby train tracks to be temporarily shut down. Despite an aggressive attack by firefighters, the building was fully involved within the first hour.

As of 9:00 pm this evening the fire is contained. Damage to the building is estimated at approximately $3,500,000. Road closure in the area have been lifted. Please use caution in the area as firefighters perform extensive mop up of the structure and surrounding area. Fire resources will remain on scene throughout the night.
