The Indonesian president's sacrificial bull for Eid al-Adha has been unveiled in the city of Padang, West Sumatra province.

Footage from July 29 shows the one-ton bovine named "Adang."

The owner of a cattle ranch at the Solok city KTK, Heridikson, said there was no special treatment for Adang, all his animals were treated the same, namely providing food as usual as from straw plus tofu dregs.

But uniquely, Heridikson always treats and care for his cattle with great affection. Each cow is given a name with the name of the person.

Heridikson said: "All cows are treated the same, but the trick is, I am from West Sumatra whose hobbies are hunting, saying to the cattle with the closeness that produces them, that's why the cows are named."

The bull will be slaughtered on August 1 for President Jokowi.

As in previous years, on Eid al-Adha this year, President Jokowi again slaughtered sacrificial animals in the city of Padang, West Sumatra province. Cattle with a limousine weighing one point one ton, have been prepared to be slaughtered next Saturday (1/8/2020). President Jokowi's sacrificial cow is named Adang.

Adang was chosen as the animal sacrifice for President Jokowi, after being selected by the West Sumatra Livestock Services Office. Of the breeders in the three regions that were candidates, namely Padang Panjang, Tanah Datar and the city of Solok, it was finally decided that Adang was the winner, based on criteria set by the Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia.

"There are several criteria that we see, first we make sure that livestock are indeed healthy, the second is good performance and the third is heavy, this is very decisive. Because it is indeed from the state secretariat and the President of the Republic of Indonesia that the cows made for the sacrifice of the president are the best cattle in the province, the second is cattle from the province breeders not from companies, "said Drh M. Kamil Mp, service secretary animal husbandry and animal health in West Sumatra.

Adang will then be brought to the city of Padang, to be handed over to the administrator of the West Sumatra Grand Mosque by governor Irwan Prayitno. It is planned that Adang will be slaughtered next Saturday, to distribute meat to the poor and needy in this area.
