Local traders in New Delhi have brought hundreds of goats to the city after the Indian government sought to restrict the transportation of sheep and goats due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Local governments have urged worshippers to purchase animals online rather than going to local markets to curb the virus outbreak.

Eid al-Adha is a prominent celebration for Muslims where some celebrations involve sacrificing a goat.

Even though the government banned publicly sacrificing animals for Bakrid and banned transportation of Sheep and goats and selling goats in open markets, traders from the neighboring districts brought hundreds of sheep and goats to Delhi for Eid-ul-Adha. However, the sale of goats was at an all-time low this year due to COVID-19 and lockdown and many sellers are sold their goats and sheep online amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eid-ul-Adha is one of the most prominent festivals of Muslims after Eid.On this day, people of the Muslim community celebrate this festival by sacrificing a goat.But like other festivals this time, the color of this festival was fade due to the Eid in the Coronas. Delhi police also stressed that religious leaders must exhort people to celebrate the festival in their homes.
