A wild boar that was rescued by villagers in central India’s Chhattisgarh attacked the rescuers after being hauled out from the well.

The incident took place on July 23 in Raipur’s Nakti Khapri village.

Footage shows the agitated animal being drawn out from the well, using a rope tied around its midriff, by the villagers.

Two men attempted to pull the animal out of the well after one of them was unsuccessful in doing so.

Once being safely brought up to ground level, the anxious boar rushed to attack the villagers but is held back by the rope, and was secured tightly around a tree bark.

Sources suggest the boar raced into the jungle soon after being freed from the rope.
