New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced on Thursday, August 6, the statewide moratorium on eviction to extend by 30 days, offering temporary relief to thousands of New Yorkers at risk of losing their homes.

Hundreds of people organized by unions gathered outside Eviction Court before the extension, held a rally to demand a ban on evictions, and for rent to be canceled.
