Fire brigade rescue elderly women who fell into well in Southern India

Fire brigade officials have rescued an 80-year-old woman from a well in southern India's Karnataka.

The incident took place on August 6 in Kukkikatte of Udupi.

The video shows the firefighters rescuing the woman from the well using thick ropes.

The police officials joined in the collective efforts to haul out the elderly woman out of the well to safety.

According to the reports, the grandmother, identified as Sarathy Shettigar, accidentally fell into the well and the locals immediately alerted the fire department.

On getting information, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Sadashiva Rao Gavaroji and fire brigade officer Rajesh Nayak rushed to the spot and carried out the rescue operation.

Fortunately, the elderly woman escaped the incident with minor injuries.
