BLM March in Omaha, NE on Jul-19-2020 to Protest Excessive Use of Tear Gas on Peaceful Protesters

In early July, Omaha police used huge amounts of tear gas against peaceful protesters in an attempt to disperse them. The police justified its use by claiming that the potential existed for the protests to turn violent. They surrounded protesters, entrapped them, and then fired tear gas into the crowd. Because they were surrounded by unyielding police barricades, protesters were unable to disperse. The technique is known as kettling. They used tear gas for several consecutive nights to enforce a curfew and again used the kettling technique to trap protesters on a bridge so they could be tear gassed and arrested. The protesters were non-violent, but had been marching in the street rather than on the sidewalk. Police arrested every single protester along with legal observers and press members and all were charged and released about 24 hours later. Tear gas has negative and long lasting effects on the female reproductive system and that was the theme of the march in the video.
