Pedal-powered ferry helps locals cross canal in Bangkok
An unusual canal crossing in Bangkok uses a pedal-powered raft.
Locals pay three baht, around 10 cents, to stand on the floating ferry while young lads operate a pulley that takes them to the other side.
There are several of the floating rafts along the Saen Saep Canal in Thailand's capital. Passenger boats even whizz by, causing waves that wobble the rafts.
Each one can carry up to 10 people and they are attached to a pulley that works when the operator on the other side starts to pedal manually.
Footage shows the canal crossing being used by residents as they move between the two areas on August 5.
