Man infested with maggots in his legs is rescued by an Indian pharmacist and treated in Southern East India.
A man infested with hundreds of maggots on his foot was treated by a pharmacist after he was struggling to survive by the roadside in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, India.
A person who saw the plight of the man informed the pharmacist who also is a social worker apart from his medical profession.
Pharmacist Paritosh Dash rushed to the spot along with his daughter Rajnandini a medical student and rescued the man.
Both Paritosh and his daughter treated the man with antiseptics and rushed him to the hospital for further treatment.
The video shows the maggots wriggling on his feet when the pharmacist arrived at the site and filmed his condition.
They then pour antiseptic liquids to get his feet rid of the maggots and clean his feet to make it treatable.
The man identified as Budhia had come from his village in search of job and had received injuries n his feet.
Later he didn't visit the hospital and stayed by the side of the road for weeks after which his feet slowly started developing gangrene and maggots started to infest his feet.
Later the man was taken to a salon and given a haircut and proper dress.
