St George's Cathedral in Cape Town holds candlelight vigil for victims of Christchurch Massacre

The Dean of St George's Cathedral in Cape Town, Reverend Michael Weeder, invited leaders and members of all faiths in Cape Town to participate in a candlelight vigil for the victims of the Christchurch Massacre.

Two terrorist shooting attacks happened at mosques in Christchurch during Friday prayers in Friday 15 March 2019. A lone gunman opened fire on muslim worshippers during their ritual Friday prayers at the Al Poor Mosque and the Linwood Islamic Centre in Christchurch.

Brent Tarrant, a 28 year old from Australia, was arrested shortly afterwards for the killings.
