Powerful thunderstorms brought heavy rain and wind up to 100 miles per hour in central Iowa Monday, August 10, leaving significant damages.

Gusty winds and heavy rain downed trees, damaged roofs, and destroyed structures throughout the state. According to reports, about 250,000 customers in the Iowa City area were left without power.

Near the city of Perry, the state's central, cornfields were seen flattened by the powerful winds of the storm.
