Events industry freelancers and staff gathered to protest in London on Tuesday to make a stand and emphasize that they've not received enough support from the government during the global pandemic caused by COVID-19. (August 11, 2020)

The protest is billed as "We Are Events."

Protesters are queing up up to receive wristbands, t-shirts, uplighters, masks and opera glasses in aide of the We Are Events Protest this evening happening around the London Eye. Protesters have all signed up through test and trace to ensure the socially distanced event is covid complient.

Events industry freelancers and staff line up on Westminster bridge in red ahead of the We Are Events protests at 8:50 tonight to make a stand for the events industry and freelancers who haven't had enough support from the government during the pandemic.

We are events are protesting in London regarding the live events industry which has been heavily impacted by Covid 19. They are protesting the fact that the live events industry hasn't been given much funding for freelancers and self employed people resulting in many people leaving the industry.

We are events protest in London on Westminster bridge. A barge floats round with performers and crew on it with a video wall projecting the message #weareevents whilst participants stand around the river by the London Eye in red t-shirts and masks shining red lights towards the river.

We are events Protesters walking back to the rendezvous point where they all signed in to return the uplifters that they had been given to shine the red lights around the bridge.
