TV and Video Journalist, Saawmiet Moos, came to the aid of Enca news anchor, Ayesha Ismail, during clashes between residents of the Kayamandi informal settlement and police aided by Red Ants Security.

Moos and Ismail were interviewing protesters when shots were heard in the distance and the crowd turned on them and starting hurling rocks, stones and bricks at them. As they fled, Red Ants Security guards fired rubber bullets to hold back the advancing crowd.

The protests were part of the #JozitoStellenbosch campaign which aimed to occupy the wine producing town of Stellenbosch.
