The traditional Indonesian martial art, Silek Lanyah, sees two competitors battle in a muddy rice field with intense drumming in the background.

Two fighters are seen going head-to-head in the middle of a rice paddy right after the harvesting season.

Several drummers are used to create an intense atmosphere for the crowd as the spectacle unfolds.

This footage was filmed on August 13 in Padang.

The fighters performed their action in a wet rice field in Ekor Lubuk Village, Kubu Gadang Village, East Padang Panjang District, Padang Panjang City, West Sumatra, Thursday (13/8/2020).

Silat performed in wet rice fields or "silek lanyah" is a silat movement that has been collaborated with an art movement for a performance. Every movement shown is not dangerous for the fighter because he has done the previous training.

The silat movements performed made the audience amazed and full of cheers. The performance was also decorated with drum instruments so that later the fighters would be more enthusiastic, as well as a code in the show. (Moozamochi)

Silek Lanyah is one type of Silat traditional martial arts, which is in the Kubu Gadang Village, Padang Panjang, Indonesia. Called Silek Lanyah, because this silat takes place in muddy rice fields, after harvesting the rice harvest season. Pesilat show their ability to defeat each other, either with bare hands or using sharp weapons. Because fighting in areas that are watery and muddy, not infrequently the pesilat eyes are doused with mud, making vision difficult. This attraction is also accompanied by drum and tasa music, and is able to amaze the audience.

Pertunjukan Silek Lanyah Yang Mengagumkan

Para pesilat menampilkan aksinya di sawah yang basah di Kelurahan Ekor Lubuk, Desa Kubu Gadang, Kecamatan Padang Panjang Timur, Kota Padang Panjang, Sumatera Barat, Kamis (13/8/2020).

Silat yang ditampilkan di sawah basah atau "silek lanyah" merupakan gerakan silat yang telah dikolaborasikan dengan gerakan seni untuk sebuah pertunjukan. Setiap gerakan yang ditampilkan tidak berbahaya bagi si pesilat karena telah melakukan latihan sebelumnya.

Gerakan silat yang dipertunjukkan membuat para penonton takjub dan penuh sorak. Pada penampilan tersebut turut dihiasi dengan alat musik tambur sehingga nantinya para pesilat semakin semangat, sekaligus sebagai kode dalam pertunjukan tersebut.(moozamochi)
