This is the "silek lanyah" or silat lumpur which is played by residents of Kubu Gadang village, Padang Panjang city, West Sumatra, August 14, 2020.

This tradition is most awaited by the Minang community because it only exists in the city of Padang Panjang which is a tradition of farming in the area.

a resident of Kubu Gadang, Padang Panjang, named Liza, said that "silat lanyah or silat lumpur is a tradition of the villagers to loosen the soil, with the silat movement played in the middle of the rice fields, making the soil soft and loose which can benefit the soil".

The lanyah silat movement is a derivative of the famous silat in West Sumatra province, namely silat tuo.

because this lanyah silat is unique and can only be seen during the planting season around August, this tradition is an attraction for local and foreign tourists to come to Padang Panjang city every year.
