Man fits disabled cow with prosthetic leg after noticing its struggle in India
A pharmacist in western India’s Maharashtra helped a disabled cow receive a prosthetic leg after witnessing its plight.
Footage from August 10 shows the artificial limb getting fitted to the cow.
A few months ago, Amar Jagtap, a pharmacist, visited a local shelter on Pune Solapur highway, where he noticed the disabled cow and approached Pune’s Sancheti hospital to help the cow in need.
A team led by Dr. Salil Jain, Head of the Prosthetics and Orthotics department at Sancheti Hospital, made the artificial leg and gifted it to the animal.
According to Dr. Jain, although the cow is now able to stand, it will take at least a month for it to become adjusted to the new prosthetic.
