This is the moment a kindhearted father and daughter rescued a dog trapped in a dirty canal during a storm in the Philippines.

Wilmar Binos was on his way home from work when he heard the dog crying for help in Cavite on July 29th.

He rushed home to ask his daughter Marie Cloie Binos to assist him in rescuing the stricken animal.

The pair. used a ladder and food to lure to dog over to them and then hauled it to safety.

The dog was soon after named "Kiko" and was taken to live with the family.

Wilmar Binos was on his way home from work when he heard the dog crying for help at an abandoned lot in Cavite, the Philippines on July 29.

He rushed home to ask help from his daughter Marie Cloie Binos to rescue the dog because she knows how to handle them better being a dog owner.

Marie Cloie said: "They can not speak and cannot ask for help. So our mission is to be their voice to lessen their burden somehow. We have been rescuing strays since 2017."

In the video, the man used a wooden ladder and lured the dog with food.

Other drivers also stopped by to lend a hand when they saw the pair trying to rescue the stray.

The dog, later named Kiko, was rescued and taken with the family safely.
