A team of rescuers pulled a man from the wreckage of a shop which was crushed by a fallen tree in the Indian state of Bihar on Friday (August 14th).

The large seminole tree suddenly toppled at around 5 am local time in the town of Bastantpur hitting a nearby shop where a 22-year-old man was sleeping.

The man, identified as Brahma Kumar Gupta, was trapped under the heavy branches of the tree and the mangled debris of the building.

A team from the National Disaster Response Force arrived at the scene and used cutting tools to free Gupta.

He was taken to a local health centre for treatment.

At around 0500 am on Friday, a large seminal tree on the roadside suddenly fell near the Adarsh ​​Government Middle School in Basantpur block under Siwan district of Bihar state India.

A team of the 9th Battalion NDRF deployed at Adarsh ​​Middle School Basantpur near the spot was informed. Under the leadership of commander Sanjay Kumar, vigilant rescue team of NDRF reached the spot with cutting tools and equipment without wasting time.

Commandant Vijay Sinha informed that NDRF personnel handled the situation with their professional nudity. With the help of state-of-the-art cutting tools and equipment, NDRF personnel made way for the victims to be rescued by cutting down the fallen tree twigs and wooden shoppers of the demolished shop and CGI sheets.

A lot of caution was required at the time of cutting because a little mistake could be too heavy for the victim. Then the victim, trapped badly, was brought alive from the scene.
