Shipwreck SS Richard Montgomery looks eerie on misty evening in Kent, UK
Dangerous shipwreck SS Richard Montgomery lying 1.5 miles north of Sheerness in Kent looked especially eerie this evening in a thick sea mist (August 15).
The American WWII Liberty Ship sank on August 20, 1944 after running aground on a sandbank. The ship sank with 1,400 tons of munitions onboard and is in all probability the UK's most dangerous shipwreck.
Cruise ship 'Spirit of Sheppey' can be seen passing the submerged wreck in this clip, with spectators having a close look at the wreck from the outside decks.
