US: ‘River Fire’ Burns, Evacuation Advisory Issued For Areas South Of Salinas, CA
'River Fire' in Monterey County broke out on Sunday, August 16, forcing the issuance of mandatory evacuations for areas south of Salinas.
According to reports, the fire started near Pine Canyon Road and River Road and continued to move southward across Pine Canyon by Sunday afternoon. A lighting strike early Sunday is being blamed as the cause of the fire.
