Innovative hack to erect a heavy concrete electric pole in Southern East India
A group of workers worked together and used innovative hack to erect a heavy concrete electric pole weighing above 150 Kilograms and measuring at least 8 metres in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha in India.
The video shows the group of workers holding the pole with a support of a rope tied to one of the ends while the hack lied in the bamboo poles being placed at the tangent by the workers at different lengths.
The bamboo poles gives a proper resting for the erected pole at broken intervals.
As soon as the pole is lifted to a certain height by the group, the bamboo pole is shifted to the nearest fulcrum so that the height is maintained and the pole also rests at the same height when other workers pull the rope to erect it further.
The vehicle nearby makes it a little easier as they get a higher fulcrum point to rest the heavy pole.
The workers also chant a local slogan to keep themselves motivated and going as they pull up the pole inch by inch.
Within a minute the heavy concrete pole is easily erected by the workers and they later celebrate the victory.
Their indomitable spirit was captured by the filmer as soon as he saw the workers taking up the tedious challenge.
The filmer Manas kumar Behera told Newsflare “Such indomitable spirit of the workers is a lesson to someone's life that teaches us to lift the heavy burden in our life slowly by slowly, this is the second time I am seeing this live and capturing the incident.”
“The work involves high risk of lives as a single mistake can kill them all under the heavy weight of the pillar.”
