Snake rescuers dig into Muslim in west India shrine after baby cobras were spotted in the area.

The snake was spotted peeping out of the shroud covering the tomb of a local saint and vanished.

The shrine officials called Animal Rescue Society and rescuer Akash Jadhav went to the spot with his team.

Akash removed the shroud and saw dead skin shed by an adult snake. He dug the grave and managed to find two baby cobras. There was another baby hiding in a pile of old clothes in the corner.

He put all the three in a plastic box and released them in the wild along with a trinket snake, which had been rescued elsewhere on the same day.

“This is a popular shrine in the area. With many people visiting the tomb and even sleeping closeby, the snakes could have posed a danger. I am happy we could rescue them,” said Akash.

This video was filmed on August 8.
