Thousands of people gathered in central Bangkok to protest against the military government and the monarchy on Sunday, August 16.

Protesters at the Democracy Monument called for a revised constitution and reform of the monarchy waving banners and chanting.

It was one of the largest anti-government demonstrations held in Thailand since 2014 when Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha took power in a coup.
