Thrill-seekers were left hanging after a "catapult" attraction in Russia's Yekaterinburg broke down on August 15.

Footage shows the rescue operation where two people hung at a height of 15 metres for several hours.

Initially, workers on the amusement attraction attempted to rescue the people but failed, prompting the fire service to arrive.

Eventually, the people were released from the catapult ride with the aid of a ladder from a fire engine.

In Yekaterinburg, during the celebration of the City Day, people got stuck on the "Catapult" attraction in Mayakovsky park. Two people hung at a height of 15 meters for several hours. At first, a park worker tried to free these people, but after he failed they had to call the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Nine people came to the rescue at once. People were brought back to the ground with a fire escape.
