Nonchalant villagers in Tiga Pancur, Karo watched Mount Sinabung continue to erupt on August 17.

Footage shows the relaxed villagers have drinks while the thick plumes of ash are seen spewing from the volcano in the distance.

Local reports suggest that authorities have issued a 7 kilometer exclusion zone due to the ongoing eruptions.

Since the last eruption that occurred on Friday, Sinabung activity has continued to fluctuate as gusts carrying volcanic ash material continue to exist although with a slightly decreasing intensity.

According to information obtained from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG) at around 17.24 WIB, Sinabung experienced another eruption. Based on the records they have done in the last six hours, Sinabung continues to have records of quite high volcanic activity. He said that the eruption this time was recorded on a vibration detector (seismic) with a maximum amplitude of 20 mm, and a duration of approximately six minutes 21 seconds the ash column height reaches 1,500.
