A suspicious package prompted a bomb scare on Friday night (21/08/2020) at a Derby Intu shopping centre. The incident was attended by the Royal Army Ordnance Corps and a large scene was set up closes numerous roads around Derby city centre. Police confirmed that a suspicious package had been found and that the shopping centre had been evacuated. One member of public told me it was found in the toilets but this has not been confirmed.

People who were evacuated from the centre also faced a long night of waiting as they were unable to get their vehicles parked at the shopping centres car park.

The Intu shopping centre reopened around 7am on Saturday 22nd August.
