Friends and family of Trayford Pellerin, a 31-year-old black man who was shot and killed by police officers in Lafayette, Louisiana, gathered to mourn his death Saturday, August 22.

Pellerin was shot dead at a gas station the night before by officers who were responding to a routine disturbance call. According to the police, he was carrying a knife and kept walking atter being told to get on the ground. The man was shot when reaching the door of the gas station.
