A car smashed into a restaurant after a woman pressed accelerator by mistake in eastern China.

In the video, captured in the city of Nantong in Jiangsu Province on August 21, a woman walked into a red car which was parked in front of a restaurant.

However, the car suddenly moved forward and smashed into the restaurant through the glass doors.

Fortunately, no one was in the restaurant when the incident happened.

According to reports, the woman was about to reverse her car onto the road but pressed the accelerator by mistake.

The case is being investigated by the police.

21日下午一点多，江苏南通如皋益寿路一家饭店内，发生惊魂一幕，一辆红色轿车，直接冲了进去，所幸没有造成人员伤亡，饭店的监控拍下了整个过程。
从监控中看到，当时这辆红色轿车原本停在饭店门口，下午1点17分，女司机上车发动后，就直接冲进了饭店内，大门 玻璃被撞碎，桌椅也被撞翻。饭店老板，李建成说，当时他在楼上睡觉，突然听见砰的一声巨响，还以为是地震了。李建成说，万幸事发时店里不在营业，没有客人，不然后果不堪设想。

刚发动的汽车怎么会突然冲进饭店呢，李建成说，这位女司机大概四十来岁，她原本是想把车倒到路上去的。目前，事故的具体原因，警方正在调查中。（视频由南通台提供）
